Lakeland Regional Health, an 864-bed Level II Trauma Center, is the 5th largest hospital in Florida with 5,400 employees including 550 physicians. Nursing leadership knew that technology was being underutilized in supporting patient education effectiveness for patients and staff. Taking a disciplined, cross-functional approach that included patient input, Lakeland successfully implemented a state-of-the art interactive patient care system that:

• Integrates with their Cerner EHR

• Documents Education Transactions including Learning Verification

• Includes a Digital Whiteboard to keep patients, staff, and family current on critical information

• Incorporates Real-Time Feedback surveys to support quality initiatives

• Offers entertainment options with 50 feature films

• Includes dashboards and reporting to inform performance improvement

In this webinar, Jessica LeMire and Clarinda Brewer will review their process, share their success, lessons learned, and their next-steps wish list.
