January 26, 2017 -- New York, NY – Dr. Neil Halpern, Chief, Critical Care Medicine Service, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, will take the stage at the Innovation Theater in the Intelligent Health Pavilion at HIMSS 2017 on Tuesday, February 21 at 11:30 AM.
Dr. Halpern’s session, “Designing a Personalized Patient Experience”, will focus on how improving the patient environment can increase patient satisfaction, facilitate healing, and lead to better outcomes. He will discuss the importance of improving communication among patients, caregivers, and staff, as well as creating patient--specific environments that support comfort and privacy. Dr. Halpern is a prolific author and speaker specializing in innovations in ICU design, advanced ICU informatics, use and cost of critical care in America, integration of advance practice providers in critical care, and point of care testing. His 20--bed adult medical--surgical ICU was awarded the ICU design citation award for 2009. He is an advisor to several ICU informatics and point of care testing companies, serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Healthcare Chaplaincy Network and the Facilities Guidelines Institute and is president of Critical Care Designs, a New York--based ICU design and management consultation group.
